Curiosity is the fourth track on Carly Rae Jepsen's sophomore studio album, Kiss (2012). It was released on September 14th, 2012 through 604, School Boy and Interscope Records.

Writing and development[]
Curiosity version[]
Curiosity was initially written sometime during the development of Jepsen's planned second studio album of the same name, in 2010 or earlier alongside the original producer of the track, Ryan Stewart. In November 2010, Jepsen revealed that she and Stewart had been working on the track in the studio. By June 2011, the song was in the process of being mixed. [2][3]
Stewart's version of the song would appear on the Curiosity EP, released exclusively in Canada in February 2012, and would serve as the basis for the Dallas Austin and Cory Enemy rework for Kiss later that year.
Kiss version[]
In 2012, Jepsen was signed to School Boy and Interscope Records and would begin work on her new sophomore album, now titled Kiss. When developing the album, Jepsen worked with Los Angeles based songwriters, producers, and collaborators, reworking older music and writing new material. Of the former, Curiosity was decided as one of the songs to be reworked for the new album.
Though it's unclear when exactly the song was reworked, Jepsen first met with producers of the track Dallas Austin and Cory Enemy in late May 2012, and worked together on new music on a trip to Atlanta that lasted until early June, where the song was recorded. [4][5] Austin and Enemy also worked with Jepsen on fellow Kiss tracks Drive and Tiny Little Bows additionally.
